As Lead Digital Designer at Tone Studio, I oversaw full digital campaign rollouts. Among these responsibilities, I found creating visuals the most personally rewarding, as it allowed me to craft Key Art Imagery that defined the visual direction of campaigns and use my favourite application, Adobe Photoshop.
These experiences strengthened my ability to develop brand-aligned visuals through non-destructive Photoshop workflows perform sophisticated skin retouching that preserves natural appearance, background extensions and experiment with Generative AI.
This also include preparing images across multiple platforms; print, billboards, digital, and social media while maintaining meticulous version control and clear client communication.

Retouching processes include:
Stage 1: File setup and preparation
Conducted a rough composition of all selected raw photography images to create the base image.
◦ Image assembly and perspective correction.
◦ Addressed significant curved banding issues in the supplied source images.
◦ Meticulously positioned and aligned multiple image elements to achieve the correct perspective.
◦ Sourced additional assets from pre-existing image library to refine further for the first draft.
◦ Required to strip in children, school shoes, children legs, school elements.

Stage 2: Compositing and refining the Hero child
◦ This included brush stroke techniques, masking, deep etching, and dodge & burn techniques.
◦ Softened the furrowed lines between the eyebrows.
◦ Created luminosity masks and performed skin retouching.
◦ Ensured the face does not blend with the background by relighting and creating depth.
◦ Edited colour subtly, the shade of red hair with statement use.

Stage 3: Background plate and foreground asset extensions
◦ Ensured that noticeboards, artworks, and windows are aligned cleanly and straight.
◦ Continue compositing and refining, creating or building elements using images from the raw selection, with a emphasis on AI techniques.
Stage 4: Final file finishing
◦ Performed comprehensive colour correction across all image elements.
◦ Conducted multiple reviews at different zoom levels to ensure seamless integration.
◦ Branding colour grading and then conducted file preparation for various sized outputs.

In this composition of the schoolyard, there were many different images of children to be included, or removed and rearranged to reduce repetition and distraction from the hero child.
◦ Needed to ensure that scale and perspective are maintained so the composite looks natural.
◦ New book and arms needed to be applied to Hero child.
◦ Diverse games were required, along with children sitting at the table.
◦ Stripped in a blue sky, extensive background layer extensions.
◦ Needed to insure that in the final colour grade and the black asphalt still had a distinctly summery feel to it and on brand.

This library composition required extensive editing
◦ Numerous elements were removed, cleared walls and ceiling areas, and extended the background plate.
◦ Carefully adjusted shadows throughout the scene and blurred book titles to make them unreadable.
◦ Multiple children were composited into the image from separate images.
◦ For the hero child, legs were replaced, shoes, arms, and the book she is holding.
◦ Special attention was paid to light and shadow consistency to ensure the final image appeared natural.

This appeal was one of the most complex I have worked on for TSF. Required background extensions and full body rebuild of Hero child
◦ As the original images were unavailable, I was tasked with creating a complete brick wall composition from scratch. This involved sourcing or generating suitable textures and carefully reconstructing the wall layout.
◦ To ensure the final image appeared realistic and integrated seamlessly into the scene, I paid close attention to architectural perspective and lighting consistency throughout the composition.
◦ Extended the entire background using patch, clone and AI-powered tools combined with meticulous brush work.
◦ Throughout the process, I carefully aligned all image elements to maintain visual continuity while adjusting individual components to ensure proper spatial relationships and fine-tuning perspective points for a cohesive composition.
◦ The project also demanded comprehensive colour correction across all elements, with strategic lighting effects added to create depth and dimension.
◦ Balanced the overall colour temperature for visual consistency.
◦ Enhanced shadows and highlights to preserve a natural appearance.
◦ Refined local contrast to improve image definition.

Creating the hero child required complex compositing techniques
◦ Beyond standard retouching of skin tones and blemishes, we completely replaced her face.
◦ Hero backpack was reconstructed and a school hat was added.
◦ Hero feet were also adjusted so to turn inward and her shoes were distressed to appear worn and well-used.

The Library scene presented significant technical challenges. The images received had perspective inconsistencies, with misaligned shelf images that required major correction in my work.
Curved banding issues were addressed in the source images, meticulously positioned multiple elements to achieve proper perspective, and implemented precise geometric corrections to ensure all components integrated seamlessly.
